copyME open source theatre with costume design by Pamoyo

We as Pamoyo are enjoying the new year and thereby also the fruits of a collaboration with Rahel Savoldelli from the Berliner theatre company Gutestun. Für Rahel’s project copyME, an open source theatre performance about intellectual property and copyright laws, Pamoyo designed the costumes.

copyME already celebrated a successful Premiere in Bordeaux during the festival “Les Grandes Traversées”. In the end of February it will be performed in Ballhaus Ost, Berlin.

“copyMe is an invitation to the complex world of creation in collaboration, intellectual property and copyright laws. Welcome to the open source era. There are no limits for great ideas but where are the borders between Inspiration and theft? Where do ideas come from? How can a remix become an original? And last but not least, the statement: It is possible to feel satisfaction of someone else´s success!
The better ideas you have the happier it makes me. I will take them, copy them, paste them, pimp them, remix them and give them back to you.

Rahel Savoldelli had an idea. It was related to art, creation and ownership. So she discussed it with some friends. The outcome is a transnational artistic sharing and production effort: The author and director Tim Haberger from Push Push Theater in Atlanta wrote the text. Fashion label Pamoyo from Berlin designed the costumes. 12 year old Oliver Schwegle´s thoughts became an essential part of the piece. The music came from Ben Lovett (mixer of the grey album) and DJ Matias Aguayo. Luz Algranti in Argentina worked on the production.”
